Republicans are wreaking havoc around our country and right here at home in Ohio.

We need Democrats who can meet the moment, fight Republicans, and stand up for the needs of every Ohioan.
It’s time for Democrats with the vision to win Ohio back from Republican gerrymandering and deliver real change on healthcare, housing, school funding, truly free and fair elections, and so many more challenges that Ohioans face every day.

Ohio can’t afford the Democratic Party we have, whose aspirations end at not being the Party of Trump, chasing donations from billionaires & corporations, more worried about borrowing Republican talking points than figuring out why so many Ohioans don’t even vote.

We need an Ohio Democratic Party who’ll put the real life needs of working class Ohioans FIRST. That’s why I’m asking you to send me - Joseph Abrams - to the Ohio Central Committee.

Joseph Abrams | Ohio Central Committee

Born in Dayton and a graduate of Trotwood and Kettering Public Schools, Sinclair Community College, and Wright State University, I’ve spent most of my life right here in Montgomery County. I’ve seen our transition from a thriving region of vibrant communities fueled by big companies like General Motors and NCR, to a rust belt county starkly divided between haves and have nots - suburbs with grocery stores and a Dayton with food deserts, still trying to find its footing.

As your representative to the Ohio Central Committee, I’m dedicated to bringing the real issues and concerns of the region I call home to Columbus.

The Central Committee is the elected membership of the Ohio Democratic Party. Its members come together in Columbus and set the priorities and direction of the ODP.

Every four years, voters choose one male and one female representative on their Democratic primary ballot.

If you live in Ohio Senate District 6‍ ‍(Willis Blackshear is your Ohio Senator), I’m on your ballot. Centered on Dayton, District 6 is made up of about 1/3 of Montgomery County including Trotwood, Moraine, West Carrollton, Kettering, Centerville, Oakwood, Riverside, Washington Townshand more. Not sure which district you’re in? It’s easy to find out by typing your name into voter lookup tool on the Montgomery County Board of Elections official website.

Election Day is May 5th

  • There’s some extra risk with absentee voting this year. Thanks to a change in Ohio law (SB 293) brought to you by Republicans, ballots have to be received in the mail or in the drop box at the Board of Elections before 7:30 PM on Election Day, May 5th. Our postal carriers work hard, but they can’t make any guarantees. It is safest to mail your ballot very early or find a way to vote in person. Election officials offer a range of accessibility options and disability services‍ ‍on site to assist with your needs. Use the link to find something that works for you or call the BOE at (937) 225-5656.

  • Early voting is open now at the Montgomery County Board of Elections and ends the Sunday before Election Day, in person at the Montgomery County Board of Elections at 451 W. Third St. Dayton, OH 45422. Check the schedule‍ ‍online and make your plan.

  • On May 5th, you can vote in person from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM at your neighborhood polling place. To find your polling location, get a look at your ballot, and more, use the BOE’s Voter Lookup‍ ‍tool.

  • For any in person voting, you need an ID. Make sure you bring the right one.
